Welcome to Tianrui Ma’s homepage!
I obtained my PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU), under the supervision of Dr. Xuan ‘Silvia’ Zhang. Later in Fall 2024, I joined Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT, CAS) as a Research Assistant Professor.
Academic Background
- Ph.D., Washington University in St. Louis, 2024
- M.S., Washington University in St. Louis, 2023
- B.Eng. (Hons), Beihang University, 2019
Industrial Background
- Analog Circuit Design (Research Intern), OmniVision Technologies, 2023
Research Interests
My research is motivated by how analog/mixed-signal hardware’s approximate-computing nature inspires new opportunities—smaller footprint, lower latency, lower power than ever—in the AI era. It broadly includes VLSI design, EDA tools development, and architectural explorations for ubiquitous computing platforms including edge devices and host servers.
